Squid on Chrome

Welcome to our course, Squid on Chrome. So you have a Chromebook and know how to use the basics of Chrome, but what next?! What else can you do with Chrome? Well in our course ‘Squid on Chrome' we will guide you through a collection of tutorials, that will enable you and your students to utilise your device with Squid tools that will allow you to take handwritten notes naturally on Chromebook devices and learn how can write just like they would on paper using an active pen, passive stylus, or a finger. Embedding Squid into your teaching and learning will allow for innovative functionality, resources and idea starters to help you plan creative, immersive and interesting projects. Empower your students to unleash their creativity in the classroom, and beyond. Should you have any questions throughout the course, we are here to help and as teachers we can suggest different ways to deploy these tools in your schools. What you’ll learn:

  • Gain access to real and relevant examples that have been used in the classroom
  • Work through tutorials at your own pace to focus on areas that matter to you

  • Import PDFs from Google Classroom and Drive. 
  • Easily markup PDFs to edit/assess classwork or complete worksheets & homework assignments. 
  • Insert images, draw shapes, and add typed text to notes. 
  • Write on fixed size or infinite pages with various paper backgrounds such as blank, ruled, graph, music, & sports.
  • Explore how your new skills can be shared with the rest of the school to impact school wide pedagogy.

Are there any course requirements or prerequisites?

Ideally, course participants will have a good working knowledge of Google Workspace (G Suite) for Education and/or be a Google Level1 Certified Educator.
